The Meeting

Late yesterday our North Atlanta Regional Manager Clark and his side-kick Christiaan were just finishing up their day of junk’n. They had been all over the North side of town and everywhere in between. They just finished their last job of cleaning out junk from a basement in the Midtown area. They were stopping off at the local gas station to fill up on fuel for the next day and a little bit of soda and probably some twinkee’s too knowing Clark.

As the two Stand Up Guys were sitting at the pump, they were approached by a new potential client in need. The man who approached them was in the need of our junk removal services and he needed it asap. A perfect opportunity for the Stand Up Guys to show their true colors.

Bruce’s Junk Quandary

This nice man who approached the two Stand Up Guys introduced himself as Bruce. Bruce had noticed the lettering on our beautiful junk truck and figured we were perfect for getting him out of this little junk quandary.

Bruce explained to Clark and Christiaan that he had called and scheduled an appointment with another junk removal company in the area (who we wont name), and that they just decided to not show up or even call to let him know.

So this sub-par junk removal company that Bruce hired really left him high and dry. Bruce told the Clark and Christiaan that he stacked all his junk outside of his home on the driveway so that this other junk removal company could easily back up and take care of everything.

Since these guys just decided to not show up and now Bruce was left with a junk problem, literally, sitting on his driveway. Bruce also went on to explain to the guys that the homeowners association in his neighborhood had already called him that morning to ask what he was going to do with the junk. He told the HOA when they called that there was a company coming to get it that day, so it would be gone by the afternoon.

Well as I told you before, that didn’t happen. Since that other sub-par junk removal company left Bruce high and dry, he had to find a way to get all this junk off his driveway before the end of the day or the HOA was going to have his bee-hind.

The Stand Up Guys To The Junk Rescue

By some stroke of luck, Bruce just happen to run into the perfect guys at the perfect time. As soon as he told Clark and Christiaan the story, Clark raised his had to silence everyone so that he could speak. Clark, in a calming voice said “Bruce…You don’t have to worry my friend, for we will do whatever we can to help you out of this sticky situation.”

Bruce was ecstatic that he found these ‘Stand Up Guys‘ and he just told the them to follow him to his Midtown home where the junk was. Clark finished at the pump and hit the road.

Clark and Christiaan pumped up the tunes and hit the streets of Atlanta with junk on their mind, following Bruce through tons of back streets and shortcuts, but before the knew it they were there. The guys quickly saw exactly what task was at hand and they knew what needed to be done.

Christiaan hopped out of the truck and guided Clark as he backed up right up to the pile of junk that sat in the driveway, just like Bruce said.

Removing The Junk From The Driveway

All Gone!

There wasn’t enough time for Clark and Christiaan to go to the dump and get rid of all the junk that was already in the back of their truck from the last job, so fitting all of Bruce’s junk into the truck was going to be quite the task.

The guys wanted to help Bruce out of this crappy situation and that’s why they headed straight there. They could have easily told him he would have to wait til the next day because their truck was filled, but they didn’t want to do that to Bruce. He had already seen the dark side of the junk removal world so we wanted to show Bruce the light.

Clark instructed Christiaan to hop in the back of the truck and start breaking down whatever he could, and rearranging some items so that they could salvage as much space as possible. Everyone in our company knows Christiaan as the “Master Stacker,” so there wasn’t anybody we would rather have in this situation then good ole Christiaan. If anybody could make room in that truck for the junk that was on Bruce’s driveway it was Christiaan.

As Christiaan was in the truck making moves and creating space, Clark was taking all the big items out of the pile of junk on the driveway and breaking them into smaller more manageable pieces to fit in the truck.

Christiaan..Along For The Ride

Once Christiaan had managed to muster up some space in the truck, Clark began to hand over the junk from the driveway one piece at a time. Now it just became a game of junky tetris. It was on Christiaan to put each and every piece of junk in the exact right spot, if not this job was going to fall apart. That was a lot to put on Christiaan’s shoulders, but we knew those broad, bad mamajammas could handle it.

Christiaan stayed in the truck and huffed and puffed his way through it. Putting each piece of junk in the perfect place as Clark was cheering him on from the outside. “It was really a thing of beauty to watch” said Clark in an interview once the job was all done. “Without Christiaan I don’t know that this job would have been completed on time, he’s a true junk hero.”

After all the dust settled and Bruce came outside to see how the guys were progressing, but there wasn’t anymore progressing because everything was done. Clark was just sweeping up as Christiaan was putting the tarp over the top of the truck. Man, these guys are fast!

The End

In the end it was a perfect scenario for Bruce. He found out who the jokers in the junk game were and who was the real deal. All his junk was gone, the HOA was off his back, and now on top of everything else, Bruce now had the perfect company to call or recommend if he ever needed anything done.

Once again the Stand Up Guys saved the day…

Call Into Junk Headquarters

Katie, and old customer of ours that lives in the Marietta area put a call into our Stand Up Guys Junk Headquarters yesterday. She called because she got herself into a little bit of a pinch. She had an old junk couch that had to go, and go fast.

Katie and her new fiance Billy just combined homes after their engagement. The couple decided to move into Katie’s Marietta home because of its size.

Other than the fact that Katie has a beautiful home, Marietta is a wonderful place to live as well. I myself have lived in a few different Metro Atlanta areas, and I must say, Marietta takes the cake. Nicest place to live in all of Atlanta.

Katie has a pretty common Marietta home, it has three bedrooms and two baths, along with a finished basement. It’s a nice house, I wouldn’t have wanted to leave it either if I were Katie. There was no way the two were going to squeeze into Billy’s small Sandy Springs condo, so they packed his stuff up and shipped it to Marietta.

Katie’s Pinch

The couple badly underestimated the amount of “stuff” coming from Billy’s condo though. They found out real fast that they weren’t going to have enough space for all the new furniture coming in. Billy brought everything he owned to Katie’s home, he literally left nothing behind, and didn’t throw anything out either. He even brought his 10-year-old couchfrom college.

Bye Bye Couch

This is a pretty common thing with people combining homes from what we have seen over the years. There is only so much space to go around and most people have more stuff then they really think they do. We see people make this underestimated mistake on a regular basis. That didn’t make Katie feel any better about the situation though.

Well the real problem wasn’t even the fact that they didn’t have enough space for all of Billy’s furniture. The real problem was that Katie’s parents were coming in town to celebrate the engagement, and they had planned on staying in Katie’s spare bedroom (where Billy left that old couch of his).

At the moment there wasn’t even a spare bedroom because Billy’s junk was taking up the whole room. So now Katie had to find a way to get this room gutted out, arrange her parents trip, start her wedding planning, and celebrate her engagement all at the same time.

There was only one way for poor Katie to get this little problem fixed, and that was to hire some professionals to get this stuff done. Luckily she had used the Stand Up Guys Junk Removal Crew a few months back, and because of this she knew the answer to her problem.

The only other question was, could they get it done in time?

Stand Up Guys Junk Removal To The Rescue

Clark..To The Rescue

Yesterday when Katie called into the office, we could tell that she was a little “flustered” to say the least. She expressed to us the problem she was having with this old couch and some other junk in her spare bedroom. She also told us that it couldn’t wait either. This stuff HAD to go today, or she was going to be in an even bigger mess.

We soothed Katie’s anxiety slightly by telling her we were going to dispatch a crew as soon as possible. Casey had Clark and Christiaan out on the road headed towards Katie’s Marietta home before she was even off the phone with her. We knew she was in a bind so we were going to do what we could to help her out of this crappy situation.

Clark and Christiaan showed up at Katie and Billy’s home within 30 mins of her calling in. It would have been 15 minutes but Ryan forgot to fill the work truck up with gas the last time he was out on the job, so Clark had to stop and fill up. He didn’t care though, Clark never has a problem taking one for the team.

Christiaan..Along For The Ride

Katie quickly showed Clark and Christiaan where the junk and old couch were that her fiance Billy had brought over from his condo, and told them it had to go. Oh ya, I forgot to mention that Katie hadn’t actually told Billy this couch was getting tossed, but I guess he would find out soon. Welcome to marriage Billy, looks like Katie will be making a majority of the decisions from now on.

Well Clark and Christiaan took the old couch out of the spare bedroom and had it nice and neat in the back of our junk truck in no time. The guys could tell that the couch had some good miles left in it, so they made sure to not ding it up. They figured that they could donate it later. Just because Katie doesn’t like the color or what not doesn’t necessarily mean someone else out there wouldn’t want it.

The End

All in all everyone was happy, (except Billy of course). Katie got that old couch out of her spare bedroom and was able to make it presentable and livable enough for her parents. So we know she was happy, well she expressed to us HOW happy she was that we got it done when we did in person as well.

We were happy to help Katie out. She was in a bit of a rush and had herself in a pickle, but she still found the time to be sweet and courteous to our crew just like she was the last time that we came out and cleaned all the junk from her garage. Some  people out there will always find a way to be a nice person, and we are glad that Katie is one of these people. It was a pleasure to work for her, and we hope her and Billy the best.

The Call In – Stand Up Guys Junk Headquarters

Ben, a customer of ours that has utilized The Stand Up Crew’s services on several occasions, called into the our ‘Junk Headquarters‘ today, and Ben was in quite the time crunch. Ben used the Stand Up Guys Junk Crew a few times back in the summer of last year to clean all the junk out of his basement in his Atlanta, Midtown area home.

Ben expressed to us a few different times how happy and impressed he was with our service while we were working at his home, so we knew we would be hearing from him again one day. It was just a matter of time. Once you have dealt with the Stand Up Guys you will be hooked for life, we’re just that good.

Ben’s Storage Unit Clean Out ‘Crunch’

Ole Betsy

Ben went on to tell us a little about the problem he was having, and whether or not we could help him out. Although he was just asking that as a formality, in reality Ben already knew the answer, of course the Stand Up Guys could help him out of a junky jam.

Ben told us that he has been renting out a storage unit in the Atlanta area, near his home in Midtown, for over four years now. He has been using the storage unit to hold the leftover items that he doesn’t have room for at his pottery store. Ben owns a very successful pottery store in Buckhead.

The reason Ben got himself into this little time crunch was because instead of leaving the leftover inventory from his store in the storage unit, over the last few months he and his employees have just been filling it with the junk from the store that they weren’t using.

So before Ben knew it, the storage unit was full of junk, and now he desperately needed the space because his store is overflowing with extra merchandise and he needed somewhere to keep it.

We told Ben not to worry about it, because believe it or not, we have heard similar stories with storage units over and over for years. Everybody out there rents out storage spaces with the purpose of keeping stuff there that they want to ‘preserve’, but instead it somehow always turns into a glorified personal landfill.

Casey, who was talking with Ben over the phone told him, “take a deep breath and relax, we are going to help make sure everything gets done right away. You don’t have to worry any longer, the Stand Up Guys are on the case.”

Making It Out To The Storage Unit

Storage Full Of Junk

Casey made a call to both Carson and his crew, who were out at a job in Marietta, and he call Clark and his crew, who was doing his third job in Alpharetta that day. They both told Casey the same thing, “Sorry boss, we just can’t get to anything else today, we’re too slammed.”

So Casey grabbed Ryan, who was also in the office and told him it was time to hit the streets. They both put on the work uni’s, (there are always a few extra pairs of uniforms in the office just in case of emergencies) and hit the road. The two office jockey’s had to drive Ole Betsy since the other two, newer trucks were on the road.

Betsy might be a bit older than the rest of the fleet, but she has seen and done it all. There isn’t anything that Ole Betsy can’t handle. She has been part of the Stand Up Guys Fleet of junk trucks for years and years, she was one of the original ‘junk busters‘. No matter what, Betsy will always have a place in all of our hearts.

Today was Betsy’s day to shine, she had her chance to show the world that she still had some good miles left in her, and that she was just now hitting her second wind.

Ryan and Casey hopped in Ole Betsy, gave her a little TLC, started her up, and hit the streets.

Cleaning Out The Junked Up Storage Unit

Casey, Ryan and Ole Betsy arrived at the Atlanta Storage Facility right on time, it was actually within 2 hours of Ben’s call in. Ben was even more impressed than usual. Little did he know how well we treat our repeat customers (we treat all our customers great though so…).

Ben walked the two Stand Up Guys over to the outside storage unit to show them his issue. Ben even had is company moving truck parked right next to the storage unit, it was packed to the gills with the merchandise that he needed to put in the unit. To say that he was on a “time crunch” was putting it lightly, this job was a must for him.

The two office jockey’s took one glance at the junk in the storage unit, looked at Ben and simultaneously said “No problem”. They both knew that they could knock this junk out in a matter of minutes. That’s how good they are, well at least Casey is. Casey might work in the office now, but there was a time where he wrote the book on junk removal, back when he was on the truck daily.

Ryan hopped in Ole Betsy and backed her right up to the junk in the storage unit, with Casey’s help of hand signals of course, (always remember, safety first).

The two Stand Up Guys strapped on their gloves, tightened up their boots and britches and got right to work. Ryan stayed inside the bed of the truck to make sure everything was stacked accordingly, while Casey was in the unit passing him all the junked up items.

With their team work, hard work, efficiency, and determination, the two guys had all the junk from the storage unit into the truck in a matter of 28 mins on the dot. Now that is impressive if I must say myself.

Helping Our Customers

Once they had all the junk loaded up into the truck, the two guys realized that Ben was there alone, and that he was planning to unload his truck all by himself. Well these two Stand Up Gentlemen were, in no way, going to let this one fly. They told Ben that they would help him unload the whole thing, because by himself it would have taken at least three hours.

So the three of them huffed and puffed, and unloaded Ben’s massive truck of pottery merchandise into his now spotless storage unit.

Once again Ben was extremely satisfied with his experience with the Stand Up Guys. I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if we hear from him again in the near future. Like I said before, once you use the Stand Up Guys Junk Removal Crew once, your hooked for life.

Janets Call Into Headquarters

Earlier this week, on Monday, we got a call into our Stand Up Guys Junk Headquarters from a remarkably kind young lady named Janet. We’ve never had the pleasure of working with Janet before, so as this was a new experience for her, we were going to make sure her first impression of Stand Up Guys was a great one.

Janet went on to tell us over the phone all about her plans to build an outstandingly large treehouse/playhouse for her three kids, who were all under the age of 11 (so you know they would love a new playhouse). Janet said she had two boys and a girl, along with the fact that they loved to play in the backyard of her Alpharetta home, but that there wasn’t much for them to do.

Janet’s kids were pretty much bound to only playing on the old playset that was in the backyard of the Alpharetta home. In playset standards, this old thing was a dinosaur. That’s why Janet wanted to put something new out there for the kids, she said she didn’t want her kids playing on a junk playset older than she was.

We told Janet she made the right call and that we could help her out with everything. There isn’t anyone you would rather call for you playset removal needs than the Stand Up Guys. I mean we have done countless amounts of playset removals over the years, at this point we are basically the best there are.

The very same day we sent out one of our office jockeys to give Janet a free estimate on getting rid of the old playset. We always offer our customers free estimates on both junk removal and demo work. We do not feel it is necessary to them to have to pay just for us to come out and take a look.

Janet went on to show Ryan (the office jockey) the old playset that she wanted hauled away. She even told Ryan a little about the old playsets history.

Janet told Ryan that the playset was built by her father, who originally owned the Alpharetta home. He built the old playset for Janet’s older sister at the time, but once Janet was born she had the pleasure of enjoying it as well. So all in all the playset had some rich history to it.

Demo Time!

Either way though, the playset had seen better days and at this point just needed to go. Not only was it old and outdated, but it was dangerous as well. Being as old as it was, there were too many wood slivers, and old rusty nails that found their way out of the wood. That’s just not something you want your kids playing around.

Ryan told her the price, that we could do all the demo work, and that we could also haul it all away. Janet was very pleased with the price and emphatically told Ryan, “Let’s do this!” She quickly scheduled a removal date, she actually picked the very next day. Janet was in a hurry to have this thing gone.

Ryan also mentioned to Janet that we knew a great builder in the area that could help her with the new project. We don’t only haul junk away, we also help to bring in the new joys of people’s lives.

The Junk Playset Removal Process

Carson and Casey showed up early the next day ready to roll. They both went to the front door and introduced themselves to Janet. The two Stand Up Guys told her a little about what they were going to do, and that she didn’t have to worry because they would be done in no time.

The two Stand Up Guys unloaded all the necessary tools from the truck, then hauled it all to the backyard where the playset was. This old thing didn’t stand a chance against these junk removal gurus. Casey and Carson are our two most seasoned vets, so there isn’t anything we can throw at them that they couldn’t handle.

First they got out the drill in order to pull out all the rusty old bolts that held all the corner pieces together. Janets dad really put this thing together strong, as if no one would ever take it apart.

All Gone!

After all the bolts were taken out from the corners, they started to detach the playsets legs so that it would fall onto the ground. Once the playset is on the ground the work becomes much, much easier.

Carson huffed and puffed and blew the playset down, where they then detached everything else. Now the entire playset was in manageable pieces on the ground. That was the hard part, now came the easy part, hauling it to the truck.

It was a hot early May morning, but that didn’t slow these two Stand Up Gurus from loading all the junk playsets debris into the truck quickly. Janet came outside about 30 mins after the guys got started to offer them some water and the first thing she saw was Casey picking up the last of the debris on the ground.

Janet couldn’t believe her eyes, she was stunned by how fast and efficiently the guys tore down the playset and then hauled it to the truck. She told them that they could write the book on playset removal if they wanted to. (Not that anyone would read it).

Janet was in a hurry to get that old junk playset out of her backyard, but we could tell that there was a little bit of sadness in her eye when she looked into the backyard for the first time in her life and didn’t see that old thing sitting back there.

But she quickly got over that because she remembered how awesome the new playhouse/treehouse was going to be, and also how happy her children were going to be when the new one was here. Her three kids were glad to watch the playset go as well, they couldn’t wait for the new new to arrive.

Well all in all Janet was extremely pleased with her experience with the Stand Up Guys. She was so pleased that she even called back and scheduled the guys to come out and remove some of the junk from her basement.

The Call In From Cumberland – Atlanta

On Wednesday we got a call into our office from a new potential customer in the Cumberland, Atlanta area. The customers name was Walter, who was an extremely polite old man, but he was in quite the conundrum with a pile of junk in the backyard of his home.

The Stand Up Guys Junk Removal Crew have worked out in the Cumberland area many, many times. So right off the bat we told Walter that we could help him out with whatever problem or situation he had. Walter was pumped to hear this and glad he had found the right people for the job.

Supposedly Walter had called a few different junk removal companies and couldn’t get anyone on the phone half the time, and the other half of the time he said that they acted to busy to talk to him.

The Junk Pile Problem

Walter went on to tell Ryan, who was working the phones that day, that he had a pile of junk that had accumulated over the last few weeks in his backyard. He told him that the pile started out small as he was tearing out his old bathroom. Walter was just piling up the leftover debris in the backyard at first not thinking it would turn into much.

Well before Walter knew it, the pile had become to big for him to handle with his little pick up truck. So it just sat there and got larger and larger, and nastier and nastier.

The pile wound up sitting there in the backyard of Walters Cumberland home for over a week, when the real problem was brought to his attention…

Walter has two adorable black labs that live with him, Cookie and Ginger. Walter built a large fence around his entire property so that Cookie and Ginger could roam the yard whenever they please and live the awesome life of a free dog.

Backyard Junk

When Walter would go off to work in mornings the two black labs just go in and out the doggy door whenever they feel like it. Basically they have the free reign to go and do what they please when they please.

Well when Walter got home from work the other day he realized that Cookie was getting into the pile of junk while he was off at work, Ginger wasn’t because she’s not as curious as Cookie. Walter got scared that Cookie was going to get into the wrong thing and eat something that could get her sick, like the paint thinner or rotted wood that was in there.

So as you can imagine Walter wanted to get this pile removed as soon as possible because he felt bad now that when he left for work during the day that he had to lock up the doggy door so that Cookie wouldn’t go rummaging through the pile of junk in the backyard.

The Junk Solution

Well once Walter called into the Stand Up Guys Junk Removal office, he quickly realized that we were the solution to his junk problem. We told Walter not to worry and that we could be there either that day or the next to take care of everything for him. We could tell that he was stressing over the situation and we were definitely willing to do whatever it took to take care of this for him as soon as possible.

Walter expressed to us his concern about his poor little doggies and that he didn’t want to leave them in the house another minute.

So of course, the Stand Up Guys Junk Removal Crew dropped what they were doing, moved some things around, and headed straight for Cumberland to take care of Walters junky problem.

The Removal

When the crew arrived at the Cumberland home right outside of Atlanta, they backed into the driveway, hopped out of the truck, and went directly to the backyard. Walter told us he wasn’t going to be there because he was stuck at work, so we knew where to go and what to do.

The guys saw right away what the issue was (the pile of junk was in plain sight once you opened the gate to the backyard). Carson, the crew chief quickly called Walter on the phone and told him how much we could do it for. Walter gave the go ahead and the crew got right to work.

The walk was up a slight grade in the backyard so the guys decided to pile everything up onto a lawn tarp and dragging the junk to the truck. That way they could get a whole lot more junk with every trip to the truck.

Carson and his jolly good junky fellows worked hard, efficiently, and fast and before they knew it everything was done. They had the entire pile of junk cleaned up and loaded into one of our famous junk trucks.

Carson took a picture of the clean pile and emailed it over to Walter as soon as they finished up so that he could see that everything was done. We do that for the customers piece of mind, so that they KNOW that we got the job done. Walter was ecstatic and quickly sent in his payment over the phone and that was that. Walter got out of his junk bind with just one phone call to the right company.

Oh ya, there was one more thing. Walter politely asked Carson if he would go up on the back porch and unlock the doggy door from the outside so that Cookie and Ginger could go back out to the wonderful outdoors and roam the yard once again. Carson had no problem with that. He even stayed for just a minute to hang with the cool pups before him and the crew had to ride out to the next job.

All in all it was a great experience for Walter and we were glad that we could accommodate him and take care of everything he needed in a timely fashion.

Clarky Bear & Slammons Sammons

It was a dewy but sunny Fantastic Friday morning where two of our very own Stand Up Guys were on the scene. Clark “Clarkybear” Berry and Christiaan “Slammons” Sammons entered and participated in the KSU Golf Tournament Friday. The Tournament was to benefit the Chauncey Davis Foundation as well as the Sports Management Majors Club. So to put it lightly, we were PUMPED to be involved.

The Crew at Stand Up Guys are more than just pros at Junkin’ junk! We are comprised of a group of pretty decent athletes as well. Ranging from our incredible lineup on the Stand Up Softball Team, with Casey ‘The CEO‘ at leadoff, Ross ‘The Mechanic‘ hitting in the two hole and scoopin’ balls at second. All the way to Carson ‘The Crusher‘ hitting bombs and locking down short stop, and even Ryan ‘Triple McGhee” hitting doubles and triples all over the lot.

Then we get to the Stand Up Golfers, these guys can compete with pretty much anyone. Clark and Christiaan really impressed the spectators at the event and even caught the eyes of many with their powder blue shirts and Stand Up golf swings! Man those are some pretty swings… well Clark’s at least.

The two Stand Up Guys were able to meet some pretty cool people while hittin’ the course as well. Including the man himself Mr. Chauncey Davis, and even a few Atlanta Falcons players. Chauncey was impressed with the character of the young men and was glad to have them out on the links.

Overall the guys had a great time and were already talking about being out there next year. Keep your eyes open Atlanta, because you will see the Stand Up Guys Crew just about anywhere. If it has to do with giving back to the community, sports, or most importantly…JUNK you will most likely see one of the awesome Stand Up Guys.

The Call In

Old Kitchen

Last Monday we got a call into the office late in the day. The call was from a new potential customer, and her name was Mandy.

During the phone call Mandy went on to inform us that she was looking into getting a whole new kitchen in her home located in the Eagle Watch subdivision in Towne Lake. She wanted new countertops, appliances, you name it, she wanted it.

Mandy also told us that she was just calling around at first. She hadn’t even found a contractor that she approved of to build her new kitchen, but she said from all the calls to general contractors that she had made, she knew that she was going to have to hire a company to take the old kitchen out first. So she was just calling to get some info.

Well Mandy was in luck, because she made the right call. Ryan, who was in the office that day, told Mandy that we could come out and take a look at everything for her and that we actually had a general contractor that we recommend on a regular basis.

Ryan told her that it would be no problem for us to introduce the two. This way she could keep her options open about her new kitchen.

We set something up with the Mandy for the following Friday. We just planned on coming out, giving her a free no obligation estimate, and introducing her to our trusted friend Thomas over at East Cobbs Best Remodeling. Like I said, we recommend him to tons of our customers, and we have heard nothing but raving reviews back from them over the years.

Mandy answered the door of her beautiful Eagle Watch home with a gigantic smile on her face, we knew right off the bat that she was going to be a great customer. She was very inviting and polite, just an overall wonderful host.

Mandy went on to tell us and physically show us all the ideas she wanted to implement into her new kitchen. Thomas informed her that he could in fact help her with everything she wanted done. To put it lightly, Mandy was ecstatic. She told us she was nervous that contractors were going to keep telling her that her ideas for her new kitchen were too much and too hard to do.

Right away Mandy knew she wanted to hire both the Stand Up Guys Junk Removal crew to take out her old kitchen, and East Cobbs Best Remodeling to design and install her new kitchen. Like I said before, she made the right call. Now all her searching was over, Mandy just had to sit back and watch the magic happen.

The Old Kitchen Demo

The Stand Up Guys Junk Removal Crew, consisting of Carson “The Talent,” Ross “The Mechanic,” and Casey “The Boss,” all arrived back at Mandys Eagle Watch home the following Monday. They all had on their hard hats and were ready to roll.

First the Stand Up Guys prepped for everything. They did a quick 5 minute stretch to loosen the muscles since it was going to be a rigorous job, then they got all the tools that they needed out of the truck. They got out the hammers, sledge, trashcan, drop cloths to protect the floor, wrenches for the pipes, screw gun, and their thinking caps.

Now that everything was out of the truck, they strapped up their boots, tightened up their gloves and got to work.

First they focused on all the appliances. They disconnected the dishwasher and rolled it outside. Then they detached the microwave from the wall, then laid it next to the dishwasher outside. After that they unhooked and shut off the refrigerator and rolled that out as well. Then came the hard part, they had to dismantle the kitchen sink, but leave the garbage disposal.

Carson crawled up under the sink and started unhooking everything, while Ross went downstairs to make sure all the water was off. While Carson was detaching the piping from the sink bowl itself, Casey was separating the garbage disposal, Mandy wanted to hold onto that because she had just recently bought it. With the three of them working together they had the sink and garbage disposal detached in a matter of minutes.

Now that all the appliances were out, the guys stacked them neatly onto the truck, and Ross headed out to take them to the local Goodwill. They wanted to make sure the appliances stayed in good condition, so it was smart to go ahead and get rid of them first. You don’t want to throw appliances in with a bunch of construction and demo debris. That’s a recipe for disaster.

Casey and Carson stayed behind and started in on the rest of the kitchen demo. First they ripped up all the marble countertops and broke them into manageable pieces. Next Casey and Carson pulled out each individual counter and took them outside in full. They were big, but not too heavy, so they felt it was smarter to keep them intact. You always wanna work smarter not harder on the job site.

By the time they had all the counters out Ross had arrived back on site. So all three of them jumped onto getting the junk cabinets off the wall together. With two guys the cabinets might have taken a good hour or two, but with three studs like this, they had those cabinets down and in the truck in under thirty minutes.

Now that was all the demo! All they had to do now was clean up and make sure the kitchen looked spotless.

Once the guys had all the kitchen junk loaded up into the truck, they headed out from Mandys nice Eagle Watch home and started for the dump. Nothing in this load could have been donated or recycled, so everything was to be trashed.

They were in and out of the dump in no time, and before the guys knew it, they were on the way to the next job. Lisa’s Online Booking For Carpet Removal

Our new valued customer Lisa was in dire need of some help. She needed to get the carpets torn out of her office and hallway in her East Atlanta home. Lisa’s first instinct was to go to the web to find the best company she could to come get this taken care of for her, well her first instinct was the right one.

Lisa didn’t have to look very long, because it was apparent who the best in town was, The Stand Up Guys. She went to our site, read up a bit, and went right ahead and booked an appointment online.

The gentelmen working in the Stand Up Guys headquarters that day were able to get an appointment set up for her right away with our seamless online process. Needless to say she was thrilled with how easy it was. We were glad we had the system in place in order to meet Lisa’s needs.

The Arrival

The Stand Up Guys Junk Removal Crew was booked beyond capacity Saturday, so we had to take drastic measures in order to insure that we upheld our amazing customer service reputation with Lisa.

So what did we do? We sent out two of our office jockeys and had them hit the truck for the day.

At Stand Up Guys we do whatever it takes to ensure that the customers are taken care of, and we were not going to let Lisa and her carpet removal needs fall by the “waste” side.

The two “Stand Up Office Jockeys” arrived down in East Atlanta, at Lisa’s home early on Saturday morning. The grass was dewy and the wind was a little chilly but this wasn’t going to slow down these two office geeks. They were determined to show the rest of the junk removal crew’s that they had what it takes to get this carpet removal taken care of.

The two gentlemen were greeted by the extremely nice and friendly art instructor Lisa. Lisa showed them to the carpet that had become her worst nightmare. She wanted nothing more than to watch that nasty old carpet just disappear.

Now the two Stand Up Guys on site warned her that they are no David Copperfields, but that they could get the job done quickly and for a great price! Lisa was thrilled with the estimate and was ready to get started, no, she was ecstatic to get started!

The Catty Problem

Now here at Stand Up Guys Junk Removal we don’t like to just come in and haul out junk, we enjoy the history behind said junk, and what we are doing and why we are doing it. So Lisa was kind enough to let us in on why she was getting all this carpet removed and hauled away from her home.

Lisa had a cat that decided she didn’t like her litter box anymore, (maybe it was the color of the box, we don’t know) so the cat instead made the carpet her new favorite litter box. Over the course of a few years the cat had managed to destroy her mothers lovely carpet to the point of no return.

Lisa loves her cat dearly and she had to make the tough decision on whether the cat or the carpet would have to go, obviously it wasn’t going to be the cat! Lisa had no choice but to hire some studs to rip up the carpet and revert back to the hardwoods that luckily laid underneath .

Like we told Lisa we would move the furniture in the room for her so we quickly hopped into gear and relocated all the good furniture into another room to allow space for the carpet removal process.

Lisa’s daughter had just moved back home after completing her studies at the local University. Her room was located directly above the office, so they needed to move swiftly.

After all it was early Saturday morning, which is crucial sleep time for a young social butterfly like Lisa’s daughter!

The two office geeks couldn’t tiptoe around this project but they were able to move swiftly to make sure they didn’t bother her for too long. The Stand Up Guys didn’t want to make anyone cry, and that’s no lie.

Although not normally out in the field, the two office jockeys still had the experience and the know how to get the job done. After all every single Stand Up Guys employee has to go through weeks of rigorous junk removal training before they start, no matter what their position is in the company. The two started right away moving the furniture into the living room to allow them to get the carpet up.

They then started cutting the carpet into manageable sections and pulling it up along with the padding that resided underneath. Once the carpet and padding was up the tacks along the perimeter needed a little nudging to come up to complete the removal process.

In just a short period of 45 minutes, Lisa had hardwood floors instead of the catty carpet which had haunted her for years. The Guys took off with all the debris loaded in the truck which was parked right out front and kazzaaaam, all the demolition done in under an hour!

The guys wrapped up the payment and invoicing and had a quick chat with Lisa about her future plans of staining and refinishing her new hardwoods, giving advice and opinions on the matter. Lisa had a bright smile on her face when she watched the Crew disappear down the street, as they headed to their next adventure in the breathtaking city of Atlanta.

We help around the community in a variety of ways, one being that we donate a large portion of the items that we remove from our customers homes and businesses. There are so many people who want to donate their old furniture and clothing when the time comes, but it’s just so hard for your everyday average person to go through the processes necessary to donate their unwanted items.

That’s where we come in and help. We have the man power and the tools required to donate on a large-scale.We can donate many large pieces of furniture and other household items at one time. Once we leave a customer’s home we take everything that we removed and run it through a test to see what is junk, recyclable, and what it is we can donate. Then we take the goodies and run it over to the local Goodwill, or
other non-profit organizations.

When we filter through the junk to find what is good and what is trash, we also separate whatever is recyclable, i.e. aluminum, metal, plastic, and many other materials. Once we have those in place, we run those over to the local recycling center.

The Junk Adventure Begins

Adventure In The City

Today Wendy, a new customer from Virginia Highlands called into the office with a couple of questions she needed answered. Little did Wendy know that the first call she was making was going to wind up being the only one she was going to have to make (Stand Up Guys are the true one stop shop for junk removal).

Wendy was not only looking for a junk removal company to help her haul away her old furniture. Which was an old couch, automan, a dresser, and a few lamps that were still in great shape. But she was also looking for someone to help possibly donate some of it, and at the same time bring in her new couch and dresser.

Wendy figured that she would just give a junk company a call first, and then deal with calling some donation centers and a delivery company later. Well Wendy made the right call and luckily hit it all on the head the first time, because the Stand Up Guys Junk Removal Crew takes care of everything she needs.

It’s much easier for customers to use us for all these services rather than calling 2 or 3 different companies to come to their home or place of business. It’s never any fun for someone to have to coordinate all those different companies at different times.

Stand Up Guys like to make our customers lives easier and as little more “stress free” whenever possible. So right off the bat we told Wendy that we could take care of all three phases of her little project. We would haul, donate, and deliver her furniture.

Race Against Time

One of Wendy’s biggest issues was the fact that she was strapped for time. Her weekends were jammed packed with her three teenage boys and all their extracurricular activities, baseball, football, band etc… So taking off a Saturday to handle this stuff was out of the question for her.

On top of that Wendy was a single parent and she also worked 5 day’s a week. So the only way that Wendy could get all this done was if it was done fast, and it was done around her lunch break during the work week. Her lunch breaks are literally the only time she has available during the week. When she gets home from her 9 to 5 there isn’t any time because of the kids.

Well Wendy made the right call, because there is nobody you would rather count on to get you out of a jam like this than the Stand Up Guys.

We told Wendy that we had no problem working around her schedule, and we definitely didn’t have a problem racing against the clock. I mean after all, this is what we do.

Wendy’s Junk Furniture Solution

Wendy’s solution was perfect, leave everything to the one and only Stand Up Guys. She knew now that all she was going to have to do was sit back and watch as we made magic happen.

We showed up at Wendy’s Virginia Highland home about 20 mins before our scheduled time. We wanted to make sure that we could prep and stretch our muscles before she got there, (we don’t wanna pull a hammy or anything, because we do move uber fast). This way when Wendy arrived home from work on her lunch break there would be no messing around, we were going to get straight to work.

Straight to work is exactly what we did too. When Wendy pulled into her driveway at 11:15am, we were standing there waiting and ready to go. She hopped out of the car and quickly walked us to the pile of junk furniture and mattresses that were in the garage.

We already had our gloves on, boots strapped, truck ready, and our working caps on so we didn’t waste a moment. Right after she told us everything that was junk and all the stuff she wanted hauled away we got straight to work. We lugged all the junk from her garage, and neatly placed it on the curbside, (for now at least).

Wendy’s Furniture To Be Donated

Next Wendy took us inside her wonderful Virginia Highland home to show us all the furniture that was in her living room that she wanted to donate. We quickly wrapped up the furniture in some protective cloth and hauled it off to our truck.

We neatly placed all the furniture that she wanted to donate in the back of the truck. We made sure to stack it all in there nice and safe. This way there wouldn’t be any unnecessary dings or nicks in it when we took it over to Goodwill. In other words, we stacked it the “Stand Up Way.”

Then we hoped up in the truck and followed Wendy to the nearest Goodwill. They had all ready told her that they would accept everything that she had, so we knew going in we weren’t going to have any hold ups in the donation department.

We pulled up and dropped off all the old furniture to be donated. We were in and out of there within 8 minutes tops. To put it mildly, we were making magnificent time.

Ross To The Rescue

After we had our awesome quick donation drop off, we then followed Wendy to the consignment store where she purchased her new furniture.

The store already had the new furniture wrapped and ready to go. The furniture was even sitting outside the loading dock when we pulled up. We had all of our angles covered. We weren’t going to let anything snag us, or slow us down on this amazing adventure through Virginia Highlands.

We pulled up and loaded the new, nicely wrapped furniture into the truck within minutes. We were loading while Wendy was inside signing the rest of the papers she needed to take the furniture. By the time she came out of the front of the store, we were in the truck, strapped in, and ready to go.

We hopped right back on the road and followed Wendy all the way back to her home.

We backed in nicely into her driveway, real close to the front door. This way we could have easy access to getting the furniture into the living room.

We already prepped the entire living room before we left, so all we had to do was haul the new furniture in and that was a rap, and that’s exactly what we did.

The True Studs Of Junk

After all that was complete, we just pulled out truck right back up to the curbside where we had placed all the junk before and loaded it into the truck.

Wendy had to leave to go back to work right after we delivered the new furniture. We had everything sitting outside so that she could lock her house up and not have to worry about anything while she was at work.

Today the Stand Up Guys Junk Removal Crew covered all of our tracks and made sure there wasn’t going to be anything in our way. That is the main reason why we were able to pull off this amazing chain of events without a single snag.

Wendy was extremely happy with the service, but more than anything she was impressed. When we originally told her that we could do this all on her 1 hour lunch break, she thought we were crazy. She was sure that she was going to have to deal with this on two, if not three different lunch breaks.

We made sure that wasn’t the case though. We knew if we drug this out more than one day, then Wendy was going to have to spend a night or two without furniture in her home, and that is unnacceptable to a Stand Up Guy.
