Tad Bit Of Chamblee History
Chamblee, GA was once known as Dairy Farms. This was back before they built the railroad crossing in Chamblee that took people from Atlanta to North Carolina and from Roswell to Atlanta. That little railroad crossing turned from just that into the great little city that it is today. Really shows you that everything HAS to start from somewhere, no matter the size.
Chamblee was also an integral part of both World War I and II. The government operated ‘Camp Gordon’ in Chamblee, GA. Camp Gordon had over 40,000 service men there during the war. The explosion of people in the town at that time caused a pretty significant building boom throughout the entire area. That building boom and population explosion in that short period of time would set the table for the city of Chamblee for the future.
