Historical significance

The historical significance of Water Works Park in Cleveland, Ohio, dates back to the early 20th century. The water works and surrounding area were the main focus of the city and had a second water plant. Water commissioners decided to open the area as a park to the public. Eventually, the site was used for a number of events and activities.

The park features a park pavilion and landscaped open space. In addition, the site is home to the first Japanese restaurant in the state, the Fuji Ya. It is one of the few new buildings in this once industrial neighborhood. Visit This Site!

Cost

The new Water Works Park will be a city park that features a two-way amphitheater, two natural play areas, a multi-use marketplace, a great lawn and a smaller “celebration lawn,” outdoor classrooms, pathways and restrooms. It will also feature a crabapple arboretum and visual information tools.

Water Works Park is located in Tampa Heights, a neighborhood near the waterfront. The park is part of an urban reclamation project in Tampa.
