The Hillsborough County Health Department has issued a health advisory for Picnic Island Park Beach. This beach has been closed due to high levels of enterococci bacteria in the water. The health department collected samples on Monday and found that the bacteria levels were high enough to cause illness. The health department plans to take samples again on Monday, July 24, to ensure that the bacteria levels remain at a safe level for visitors.
