More About Forest Hills, TN
Forest Hills is a wonderful, charming city inside of Davidson County, south of Nashville. Forest Hills isn’t a large city, but it’s been growing steadily for the last 10 to 20 years. The population now sits over 5,000 people and covers about 9.3 square miles.
Forest Hills has a lot of history too. The city had settlers dating back to the early to mid 1700’s. Franklin also played a large role in the Revolutionary War, with many veterans staking claim to the land after the war was over. The city itself turned into more of a Nashville Suburb during the ‘post’ World War II population boom. Nashville had trouble dealing with the population boom itself, so Forest Hills took on a lot of what they couldn’t handle. Look at what it’s given us today!
There are still some historic buildings standing in Forest Hills as well, even after modern growth and development. One being the McCrory Mayfield House on Old Hickory Boulevard. This incredible house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The two-story log dwelling was built way back in 1798 and is the oldest remaining dwelling in Forest Hills.
